Can you seriously walk into an empty room at night with a light on and say that out of all the 1 centre meter squares of space in the room, yours, somewhere down in that dark corner, say 15J, is closer to representing the light in the darkness the then 1 centimeter square that contains the 1cm wire lit up by 240 volts?

It sounds silly but that's what religions are doing.
